We want everyone to be able to use yadidi.com, whether you browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or a phone. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we have done
- A "Skip to content" link is the first stop when you press Tab.
- Pages use landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer.
- Menus, the cookie banner, the video player and our forms work with a keyboard, and focus stays visible.
- Text and buttons are checked against the AA contrast ratios in both the light and the dark theme.
- Informative images have text alternatives, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Every form field has a visible label. Error messages appear next to the field and are linked to it for screen readers.
- You can zoom the page. The video preview does not play by itself if your device asks for reduced motion.
- The moon and sun button at the top of every page switches between a light and a dark theme, and the site remembers your choice.
The accessibility menu
The round button on the left edge of the screen opens an accessibility menu from UserWay, where you can change text size, spacing, contrast and other display settings. It is an extra option and does not replace the work we do on the site itself.
Known limits
- Some older articles and pages were written before this review. A few of them skip heading levels. We are working through them.
- Some content comes from other companies, such as embedded YouTube videos and the accessibility menu. We choose these with care, but we do not control their code.
How we check
We test pages with the axe accessibility engine and by keyboard when we make significant changes, and we review the site again at least once a year.
